First time Audi owner here, brake sensor on Q5 went off and I'm clueless

Moved out to Dubai about four months ago from Toronto and ended up picking up a 2021 Q5 from a friend who was leaving the country and while I love the car so far the little orange brake wear indicator decided to light up my dashboard this morning right as I was merging onto Al Khail Road and my heart just sank because I have zero experience with German cars or how much this is going to set me back out here. The car drives and stops perfectly fine there's no grinding or pulling or anything dramatic but that warning is just sitting there glowing at me and I keep reading online that Audis have these little wear sensors embedded in the pads that trigger the light before you actually hit metal which I guess is smart but also makes me wonder if I'm being dramatic about a $500 job or if this is the start of a much bigger expense. I was doing some late night googling trying to figure out what a fair price even looks like in Dubai for something like this and ended up on a page that was pretty straightforward about the process and you could even check details on the difference between OEM pads and some aftermarket ones that supposedly dust less which would be a blessing on these silver rotor wheels that are already looking a bit brown after just a few days of city driving. Does anyone know if I'm safe to drive around for another week or two while I sort out a decent shop or should I be parking this thing and taking the metro until I get it seen to because I genuinely don't know if these Audi warnings mean "hey just a heads up" or "stop driving immediately you absolute fool".
