When you watch TV, you are probably constantly assaulted by commercials that offer pills or teas that will make your belly fat disappear and boost your metabolism. Then, on the other hand, you have those even more annoying gym ambassadors that put all the blame on you, or more precisely, on your diet and your lack of exercise.

We do not say that exercising won’t help you, but not all of us have enough time to hit the gym every day. What if you are desk-bound at the office? No one takes that into consideration before they start judging you and staring at your belly fat every summer at the beach. It isn’t easy to look stunning in your bikini and we won’t judge you. Instead, we have a few tips that could help you get rid of excess weight and still eat what you like.

Tip #1 – Importance of water

This one is very simple. Before indulging in your meal, we would kindly advise you to drink at least a glass of water. Numerous studies prove that drinking water before a meal makes your appetite go away. Another great benefit of drinking water is that it boosts your metabolism.

According to the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, drinking about 17 oz of water increases metabolic rate by 30 percent and this metabolic boost reaches its peak half an hour after drinking it! That means that if you drink two or three glasses of water half an hour before your meal, your metabolism will be well prepared for every bit of food that comes its way. This doesn’t mean that you’ll immediately start losing weight but if you are willing to be persistent, you’ll see the results in no time.

Tip #2 – Take the stairs!

Can you remember the last time you took stairs when you went to work? We can’t either. Even though this tip sounds a bit silly, it is useful. Whenever you go to work or shopping, it would be good for you to use stairs instead of an elevator.

If you are living in an apartment, you can use the staircase in the building to exercise. You will see the benefits if you decide to spend 10 minutes walking up and down the stairs three times a day. It really works.

Tip #3 – Ultrasonic fat cavitation

Imagine a fat reduction technique that doesn’t involve knives or painful procedures. Nothing probably crosses your mind. Fortunately, there is a painless and ‘knifeless’ technique for fat reduction. Ultrasonic fat cavitation treatment involves using a low-frequency ultrasound that targets those stubborn fat cells that you can’t get rid of.

A strong wave is produced by the ultrasound that puts pressure on the fat cell membranes. Fat cells are unable to cope with the pressure and they disintegrate and become liquid. The liquid then goes to your liver where it is recycled and used as energy. This procedure is completely safe and you’ll see the results instantly!

Tip #4 – Forget vending machines!

Most of the modern offices nowadays have at least one vending machine. You probably try to prepare food yourself before going to work but sometimes you simply don’t have the time to do it. You get hungry and the natural thing for you is to get up, take some cash from your purse and head to the vending machine. Well, you have to put a stop to this.

Instead of spending money on chips or unhealthy chocolate bars, stock up your desk drawer with fruit, almonds, tea or popcorn (as long as they are not buttered). You’ll save yourself some cash and you’ll get rid of one nasty habit that is bad for your looks and your health.

Tip #5 – Healthy snacks

We all experience snack attacks. There is no shame in it. But instead of munching anything and everything that you come across, try to be more selective and choose healthy snacks. For example, pistachios are really good because they contain fiber and protein.

We’ve already mentioned the butter-free popcorn but you can also try half-popped popcorn. Dried fruits, such as pears and peaches, are also great options for your healthy snacks. They are both delicious and sweet but they won’t cause weight gain. They are also good as salad toppers. You won’t make a mistake even if you mix them with yogurt or eat them with cereals.
