Men with erectile dysfunction (ED) can be treated with Penegra, a brand of sildenafil citrate, the same active ingredient in Viagra.  Penegra, which is produced by Zydus Cadila, comes in tablet form in 50 mg and 100 mg dosages.

How It Operates

By relaxing blood vessels, Penegra acts as a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor, increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation.  This makes it easier to get and keep an erection that is appropriate for intercourse.

Administration & Dosage

Timing: Take Penegra half an hour to an hour before you intend to have intercourse.  It requires sexual activity to be effective, and its effects might continue for up to four hours.

Frequency: Take no more than once day.

Food Considerations: You can take Penegra with or without nourishment.  A high-fat meal, however, might postpone its start of action.
