Treyarch's upcoming Zombies experience in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 places balance and variety at the forefront of its post-beta priority list. After the beta, the team debuted targeted tuning aimed at refining combat dynamics and map variety. Improved progression and matchmaking systems aim to reduce artificial CoD BO7 Boosting reliance and encourage players to organically learn mechanics and strategies.

The most self-evident change is the Shock Baton, which will be nerfed to slow attacks to avoid its previous overperformance throughout waves. The nerf is intended to maintain the identity of the weapon but with it not dominating melee fights to maintain notable weapon differentiation throughout the armory.

In comparison, SMGs will have a notable buff at extremely close range. The close-range buff is intended to encourage high-damage, aggressive exchanges of blows between zombies and players, and increase the significance of mobility and gunplay in early and middle-game. The end result should be a more dynamic frontline where gunners must trade speed for positional awareness, and a better meta for close range rewarding player skill.

The design team also suggests a shift in how enemy variety will manifest on Survival maps. The Doppelghast will not appear on all maps, so that each environment can have its own distinctive thematic and tactical feel. Through the elimination of some of the old reliable enemies—Manglers, Vermin, Parasites, and Amalgams—Treyarch suggests a deliberate shift toward new or reworked threats.

Cosmetic and UI upgrades are alongside the fundamental gameplay adjustments. Gamers can expect distinctive HUD themes that will be added upon release, enabling personalized interfaces that are aligned with specific playstyles or mood settings. The addition of Cursed mode brings an element of challenge that is available upon completion of the Main Quest, "Ashes of the Damned." This version ensures a much more challenging experience for veteran players who desire increased stakes and more challenging goals.

Whittled enemy squad on all the maps invites players to adopt new tactics and experiment with different classes of weapons and training procedures. UI customization and post-launch features enrich the experience, turning cheap CoD BO7 Boosting more skill-focused and less about cheats, transforming Black Ops 7's Zombies mode into a dynamic, life-like playground rather than a fixed one at launch.
